Ellex Tango (SLT/YAG)

Supplier Code:
Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty

Designed to Maximize Your Workflow

  • Ellex has integrated the laser and slit lamp for greater efficiency and reliability, as well as for improved ease of use. The Tango’s compact, efficient design provides you with additional working space and convenient, simultaneous access to the patient and laser controls.

Greater Efficiency at the Touch of a Button

  • Designed to make procedures as efficient as possible, the Tango™ incorporates a proprietary dual-mode laser cavity design — allowing you to instantly switch between SLT and photodisruptor modes at the touch of a button.

Ellex SLT Technology

  • The Ellex Tango™ features a high level of precision, in which parameter settings can be adjusted at 0.1 mJ increments. This capability, coupled with superior energy control and the fastest repetition rate in the industry at 3 hertz, enables you to deliver quick and highly accurate SLT treatment. All SLT treatment parameters are designed to industry-recognized treatment protocols, maximizing treatment options and ensuring effective patient results by enabling treatment to be tailored to the individual patient’s response.

SLT Photoregeneration

  • SLT is a highly effective approach for first-line glaucoma treatments, adjunct therapy with drugs, and alternative therapy when drugs or surgery fail. It is also a flexible treatment option, because it can be repeated, if necessary, depending on the individual patient’s response. SLT uses short pulses of low-energy light to target the melanin in specific cells of the affected eye. In response, the body’s natural healing mechanisms rebuild these cells, improving drainage and lowering intraocular pressure. The surrounding, non-pigmented cells — as well as the rest of the eye structure — are untouched and undamaged.

Value-Added SLT Program

  • In order to maximize the potential of SLT within your practice, Ellex has developed the Value-Added SLT Program. This program delivers a number of tools designed to increase the visibility of SLT among patients, and provides a wealth of treatment information based on the extensive experience of doctors, researchers and clinicians who are considered SLT experts by the field. Topics include how to qualify patients for treatment, optimal treatment techniques and the latest SLT research studies from around the world. Learn more at slt-ellex.com.

Efficient Energy Delivery

  • Our Ultra Gaussian spot profile and fast rise time enable you to perform capsulotomies and iridotomies at lower, more efficient power levels that greatly reduce the risk of lens pitting. It also makes it possible for you to cut tissue more efficiently, using fewer shots and less cumulative energy. This ultra-low energy optical breakdown (in air) of approximately 1.8mJ in optimal conditions is compared to fundamental mode lasers that typically achieve optical breakdown (in air) at 3 to 4mJ.

Pinpoint Precision

  • With a tolerance range of ± 8 microns, the Tango’s fine, two-point focusing system makes it easy for you to ensure that the system is always in focus, and that energy is delivered where you intend in relation to your target.

Better Performance over the Long-Term

  • The Tango™ features a solid-state Q-switch life-tested to deliver 400,000 shots, and does not deteriorate over time like more common YAG Q-switches. As a result, you will experience better performance, and a dramatic reduction in long-term operating costs.
